In case you don’t know, a sociopath is defined as a person with a psychopathic personality whose behavior is antisocial, often criminal, and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience according to dictionary.com.
I found out about a week ago that I had interviewed a real genuine actual sociopath on my former podcast, Bible News Radio. I’m still processing this and after thinking about it for a week, I feel a need to share a few thoughts.
The sociopath I interviewed about two years ago is a guy by the name of Rodney Grubbs and he’s the founder of Pickleball Rocks. Pickleball Rocks boasts about being “the world’s most recognized pickleball apparel brand”. And so it may now actually be that given the criminal behavior of the founder.
During my interview with the sociopath he sat there looking proud because of how he formed his now infamous company Pickleball Rocks.
Meanwhile, the whole time, he knows he’s been lying and stealing from hundreds of people and this past week he was forced into bankruptcy by the state of Indiana.
The Indianapolis Star reported…
A federal judge has forced an embattled Indiana pickleball apparel and equipment entrepreneur into bankruptcy after his investors testified they had no confidence he will ever repay loans they gave him.
Judge Robyn L. Moberly granted the creditors' petition to open an involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy case Wednesday for Rodney "Rocket" Grubbs of Brookville. Grubbs is accused of convincing hundreds of people from across the U.S. to giving him loans in exchange for short-term, high-interest investment opportunities with his company, All About Pickleball LLC, which does business as Pickleball Rocks.
It’s also my understanding that this investigation into Grubbs has gone nationwide and into at least two other countries. So this is no small con. This is a huge con that some say he’s stolen upwards of $10 million dollars over the last twenty years. Apparently it all started with real estate and then a few years ago morphed into targeting hundreds of pickleball players all over the country.
He actually came to me in Facebook with the following request on January 7, 2023.
I told him I couldn’t because my husband makes a very low income and then he responded…
He went on to kiss up to me, tell me he would keep me in his prayers etc. Then ended with…
Sociopath Grubbs said that “Maybe some day”… Well, this day is now because I will not be silent about an evil man who has no conscience and who has stolen millions of dollars and ruined hundreds of lives.
A dear friend of mine recently told me that no one ever “blames the snake” for eating the mice. After all, the mice were there and ready to take the cheese right?
Wrong. Grubbs intentionally groomed his prey and then he went in for the financial kill in order to meet his own selfish and greedy gain.
In fact, just about anyone who has ever been conned by a sociopath like Rodney Grubbs, testifies to the loss of trust and personal betrayal by a “friend”. Money can be replaced eventually, in most cases. Broken trust and betrayal messes with the very heart of a man.
And as is often the case with these types of people the fall out from the victims is that the victims usually blame themselves and many are full of shame for what they did to help the snake who was conning them the whole time.
Meanwhile, the media often uses language which blames the victims and then glorifies the conman because “if it bleeds, it leads”.
Make no mistake, Rodney Grubbs will eventually pay for his crimes and he will hopefully end up behind bars until his death. He won’t care though because he doesn’t have a conscience. He’s a sociopath and sociopath’s do not care about anyone but themselves as they leave a trail of destruction behind them.
Given he boasted about how “godly” he is and how “Christian” he is, I have full confidence in the God of scripture who will repay a million times over, this Judas who sat out in the open pretending to be dumb sheep when he really is a ravenous wolf.
Consider this - if someone is beloved by everyone and as a charm, they could be sociopath. If they boast about how great they are, they could be sociopath.
I’d recommend reading the classic book The Sociopath Next Door by Martha Stout. It’s been around for quite some time and there are follow up books also, just don’t trust or believe anyone and keep you money safe and don’t hesitate getting an attorney and doing your due diligence even if the wolf begging you to invest gets upset and makes it about them.
